We hope that all of our friends in Chattanooga and elsewhere will join us in celebrating the restaurant’s 25th anniversary, a milestone that we will reach on February 12, 2017.
When 212 Market opened on 2/12/92, lots of locals told owners Sally, Susan, and Maggie Moses that they were crazy. Naysayers warned that Chattanoogans would never venture into downtown Chattanooga – especially after dark – and that the menu was much too fancy for a “steak and potatoes kind of town.”
But here we are 25 years later celebrating a quarter century of great local food, green practices, and a revitalized downtown.
We’ve employed hundreds of great people over the years, many of whom went on to contribute to the city’s revival and its thriving restaurant scene, and a number of whom have been working at the restaurant for over 20 years.
And we’ve had the privilege of serving three generations of Chattanoogans and visitors, celebrating birthdays, weddings, graduations, and anniversaries with families we have come to know well over the years.
If you would like to help us mark our 25 years, we encourage you to make a $25 donation to the non-profit of your choice and send us an email or drop by to let us know.
We’ll also be offering a 3-course $25 anniversary brunch special on February 11 and 12. The prix fixe brunch will include a cup of soup or a garden salad; an entrée; a mini dessert; and a mimosa or bloody Mary. Sweet, savory, and vegetarian options will be available.
